8.5 GB back, without losing what matters.

A nearly full computer got 8.51 GB of space back through careful, verified cleanup, with a person approving the plan before anything was removed.

An Isolora project.

Who
Isolora's own project: a nearly full computer.
Challenge
Free up real space without risking important files.
What we built
An inventory, verified duplicate checks, a cleanup plan to review and a saved receipt.
Result
8.51 GB of extra free space, measured and recorded.

The challenge

A computer that's nearly full slows everything down, but deleting things in a hurry is how important files get lost. The goal was real space back, with proof that nothing important went missing.

What we built

  • Look before deletingA full inventory of what was taking up space, and where.
  • Prove it's a copyBefore two redundant archives were removed, 247 extracted photos were checked to confirm they were safely in place.
  • Approve firstA clear cleanup plan to review, so nothing was removed without a yes.
  • A receiptA saved record of exactly what was removed and how much space came back.

How AI helped

AI investigated the files, checked the duplicates and carried out the approved cleanup. We chose what was in scope and gave the go-ahead before anything was deleted.

The result

The saved record measured 8.51 GB of additional free space, with every removed item verified and documented.

Under the hood

The technology, in plain words.

Tools

  • Python
  • macOS file tools
  • Duplicate verification

Finds what's using space and proves files are true copies before removal.

What do these words mean?
Duplicate verification
Checking that two files really are the same before deleting one.
Archive
A single file, like a .zip, that holds many other files.
Receipt
A saved record of what was done, so it can be checked later.

What this means for you

Cleanup should never be a gamble. Look first, prove what's a copy, agree the plan, then keep a record. We bring that same care to every system we touch.
