Getting started

Do I need to know technical terms?

No. Start with what you want to accomplish, or what you're worried about. We'll explain every step in words that make sense.

What does a first conversation look like?

Most start with a short email. Tell us what's on your mind, and we'll reply with a few questions and a sensible next step. If talking it through is easier, we're happy to hop on a free 15-minute call.

Do you only work with women-owned businesses?

No. Women building businesses are central to Isolora, and everyone is welcome here.

Can you work with my existing website?

Yes. We can review it, improve it, secure it, or help you plan what comes next. If it's been around a while, see Legacy vulnerability scanning & patching.

I have an idea but don't know where to start. Can you help?

Yes, that's one of our favorite starting points. We'll help you shape it into a few clear first steps, and keep it safe from day one. Our article You have an idea. Here's where to start. is a good first read.

Do you work with care homes and healthcare businesses?

Yes. Health information needs extra care, and we've built HIPAA-compliant systems for care businesses. See our adult family home case study.

Do you help older adults with technology?

Yes. We offer patient, one-on-one tech help for seniors: using phones and email with confidence, spotting scams and keeping accounts safe. Our guide Tech help for seniors is a good place to start.

Can I arrange help for my parent or grandparent?

Of course. Many families reach out on behalf of someone they love, especially when they live far away or are short on time. Tell us a little about them, and we'll take it from there.

Security

Will you test my website without permission?

Never. We only test systems you own or have written permission to test, and we agree on exactly what's included, in writing, before we start.

How long does a security review take?

It depends on what's being reviewed. You'll get an estimate before any work begins.

What happens to my data?

We only look at what you've agreed to, and only use it for the work you asked for. Our privacy policy has the details.

Can you fix the problems you find?

Yes. We can make the changes for you, then check that each fix actually worked. Or, if you prefer, we'll walk you or your team through doing it.

What's the difference between a security audit and a vulnerability scan?

A scan uses tools to look for known weak spots automatically. An audit is broader: we review the scan results along with your settings, accounts and everyday habits, then explain what matters most and what can wait.

Do I really need a password manager?

For almost everyone, yes. It's one of the simplest, most effective things you can do. Here's our pick for the best overall and the best free one.

AI

What is shadow AI?

AI tools people use at work without anyone approving them, like pasting customer details into a free chatbot. It's usually well-meant, but it can put data at risk. AI governance helps you find it and set simple rules.

Is it safe to let an AI tool read my email?

It can be, with the right limits. The key questions are what it can access, what it can do on its own, and who checks its work. An AI security review answers those for your setup.

Can AI save my business time?

Often, yes, especially on tasks you repeat every week, like drafting, sorting, summarizing or paperwork. We start with one task, automate it carefully, and keep a person in charge of anything important. See our automated timesheets case study.

How do we find out which AI tools our team is using?

Start with a kind, no-blame conversation. Then, if you need proof, your cloud platform's admin and security tools can find AI use and enforce your rules. We explain how in What is shadow AI?

Can you help us make videos with AI?

Yes. We can turn raw recordings or product ideas into short, captioned videos with clear visuals. See how we make and edit videos with AI.

Will AI replace my team?

That's not how we use it. AI takes on the repetitive parts, and people keep the judgment, the relationships and the final say.

Working together

How much does it cost?

Every project is scoped first; you'll know the price before any work begins.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes. Our monthly care plans keep things up to date, include regular check-ins, and give you someone to ask when questions come up. We'll agree what's included before you start.

How do I get started?

Send a short note through the contact page. A few sentences is plenty.

Do I have to start with a big project?

No. Many people start with one small piece, like a quick security check or a single automation, and go from there.

Will you explain what you changed?

Always. You'll get a plain-language summary of what we did, why it matters and anything you should keep an eye on.
